WHAT IS PETRI-WOOD ?
Petri-Wood is a PENETRANT, not a coating. It is a unique substance that will quickly wick its way through the entire fiber structure of wood. Petri-Wood will enter the Dark Growth Rings of the wood (spring rings), and from there migrate to all of the surrounding sapwood within the timber. After treatment with Petri-Wood the wood will no longer expand or contract and will be rendered 100% dimensionally stable.

Petri-Wood is a solvent-based wood treatment. Cedar Oil solvents displace water in wood. "The Absence of Moisture is the Absence of Issues," and from treatment time forward no moisture will inhabit the wood; subsequently, no insect or wood rot issues will ever affect the timber. After application, the treated wood will take on the early characteristics of PETRIFIED WOOD.

Can you still stain wood when you are using Petri-Wood?
Yes. Petri-Wood lets you have a deck that is both beautiful AND protected. Just apply stain after your Petri-Wood applications are complete.
 
Does Petri-Wood change the color of the wood, concrete, brick, etcetera?
No. Petri-Wood is a clear solution with no pigment. It does not alter color or leave color behind. However, some people have found that, when applying it to wood, the wood appears a shade or two darker, as if damp. In most cases though, there is no noticeable change.

How much space does a gallon of Petri-Wood cover?
One gallon of Petri-Wood covers approximates 100 to 150 square feet.
