Technical information:
PCO Choice is a concentrate composed of 85% modified cedar oil and 15% Corn Oil by-product called Ethyl Lactate. Cedar oil is a natural essential oil that provides a pheromone interruption agent that impairs the insects mental capacity (fries their brain). When combined with Ethyl Lactate, it becomes a bio solvent which is instrumental in triggering instant erosion and dehydration of the insect’s exoskeleton and subsequently, the egg and larvae.
For every insect you see there are 99 more in egg and larvae stage. Exposure to a water solution spiked with cedar oil and ethyl lactate will destroy the egg and larvae stage, breaking the egg layer cycle and eliminating the next generation of insects. It has no effect on sight driven beneficial and pollinator insects such as butterflies or bee's. It will not hurt any of the amphibians or lizard family but will deter venomous snakes and rats from the treated areas
Cedar oil loves water, so we suggest applying with a hose end sprayer for most outdoor applications. You can also apply with any type of pump/pressure sprayer.
General Application Rates
To Repel Insects From the Yard or Garden - Including Mosquitoes, Flies, Fleas, Ticks, Japanese Beetles, Scales, Mites,Chinch Bugs, Aphids, Ants and numerous other insects: Spray all lawn, beds, shrubs and plants at 2 oz of PCO Choice per 1000 sf A hose-end sprayer will give you the fastest method of application. For Mosquito and fly protection spray your deck or patio as well.
You can use any hose-end sprayer to apply this product. If you are using an adjustable hose-end sprayer we suggest a setting of to 1 oz per gallon as a general INSECT REPELLENT RATE. Hit all the lawn and garden areas with a light coating, including shrubs, flowers, and small trees. Use approximately 2 gallons of water per 1000 square feet. Apply every 2-3 weeks.
To Control Insects that have already invaded your lawn or garden: Apply at double the rate -4 oz per 1000 sf. For subsurface insects apply 4-6 oz and make sure you water deeply.
If your are using a pump or fine mist sprayer for foliar spraying, mix at 4 oz PCO Choice per gallon of water for infested plants, and 2 oz per gallon of water as an insect preventative. Wet as much leaf, branch and stem areas as you can reach. DO NOT RINSE OFF.
To Spray Individual Plants or Insects with a pump sprayer, mix at 2 oz PCO Choice per gallon of water and soak plant leaves and branches liberally.
1. Pour 4-6 ounces of the PCO concentrate into the container of the hose end applicator provided with the product.
2. Fill the rest of the container with tap water.
-
3. Attach to the water hose, turn the lever to on and initiate spraying. Each container of solution will dilute 20 gallons of water spray.
4. When the container is empty, refill the cup with another 4-6 ounces of PCO Choice and water, then repeat as often as necessary to complete the initial soaking.
This treatment is very inexpensive and will resolve many other insect issues such as aphids and scale on plants, powdery mildew and all of the normal lawn fungal problems grassy areas experience.
